‘Gene Simmons Family Jewels’: Shannon Tweed discovers TMZ photo Continue reading on Examiner.com ‘Gene Simmons Family Jewels’: Shannon Tweed discovers TMZ photo

How weird and uncomfortable was it to watch the season premiere of “Gene Simmons Family Jewels?”  Voyeurism at its finest, we kicked off the premiere with Gene and Shannon Tweed at odds over a TMZ photo that caught Gene walking out of a “business meeting” arm in arm with two young blondes.

That sent Shannon, understandably so, into a crying fit, threatening to leave Gene if he didn’t go to counseling.  Which he did--a shrink to be exact.

As I watched “Gene Simmons Family Jewels,” the HBO series “The Sopranos” kept playing in my head over and over.  On “The Sopranos,” Carmela turned a blind eye to everything Tony did--until one day when she sort of stopped doing that and things came to a head.

I got the same feeling watching Tuesday night’s premiere.  And while Gene Simmons is in no way like Tony Soprano, I did see a bit of Carmela in Shannon Tweed.  Stuck in a long relationship with a rock star, Shannon has willingly allowed Gene to bask in his arrested development.

Until today, when (for whatever reason) the TMZ photo seemed to be the straw that broke the camel’s back.

The premiere also dealt with Sophie going to college, and we were treated to a home video montage that showed everything from Shannon holding a newborn Sophie in the hospital to Sophie’s first day in pre-school.

'Teen Mom's' Amber Portwood Threatens Suicide, Hospitalized

Police confirm a relative called police from the MTV reality star's house claiming that she was "depressed and threatening to end her life."
Teen Mom star Amber Portwood is in an Indiana medical facility after threatening to commit suicide, police confirm to The Hollywood Reporter.
"Late this morning (11:34 a.m.), Anderson Police responded to a call at a residence in the 1300 block of Pleasant Meadow Drive.  According to the caller, 21-year-old Amber L. Portwood was depressed and threatening to end her life.  The victim, who did not appear to be injured, was transported to a local medical facility for further evaluation," said Detective Mitch Carroll in a statement.
"The incident is considered a medical episode, and accordingly, no additional comment will be made by the Anderson Police Department," he continued.
When police arrived, Portwood did not appear to be injured, but she was rushed to St. John's hospital for evaluation, TMZ.com reports.
A rep for MTV (which airs Teen Mom) told THR in a statement: "Our understanding is that Amber has been admitted to a local hospital, but we have not been able to confirm the accuracy of any reports being circulated and are waiting for further details. Our thoughts are with her and we hope to hear more soon."
Portwood has a rough few months: In December, she was charged with two felony counts of domestic battery, one felony count of neglect of a dependent and one misdemeanor count of domestic battery after striking Gary Shirley in front of their 2-year-old daughter, Leah.

Joss Stone Possible Target of 'Murder Plot,' Police Say

Joss Stone is believed to have been the target of a possible "murder plot" this week following the arrest of two men near her home in Devon.

Police apprehended the suspects on Tuesday morning after they were spotted driving around the village of Cullompton by residents. Both men, who are in their early 30s, were arrested for possession of an offensive weapon and going equipped to burgle/steal, while one was also accused of driving while disqualified.

But according to reports in the British media, the two are thought to have been planning to rob and murder the 24-year-old multi-millionaire. A source was quoted in a number of outlets, including The Telegraph, saying it was thought the pair planned to cause the singer "really serious harm."

The report quotes claims that the items recovered from the suspects' Fiat Punto included a body bag, swords and maps of Stone's country home.

A Devon and Cornwall police spokesperson confirmed that the two people, who remain in custody, "had in their possession information relating to an individual in the Cullompton area and items that lead us to suspect that they may have intended to commit a criminal offence." He added that the offices were carrying out "reassurance patrols" in the village and said that it was "important to stress that no properties have been burgled and no individuals have been harmed".

‘Cowboys & Aliens’ world premiere will be at Comic-Con International in San Diego

It looks like “Cowboys & Aliens” will saddle up in San Diego.

Filmmaker Jon Favreau had just walked off stage Sunday night after a sparkling  “Iron Man” reunion at the Hero Complex Film Festival, but his thoughts were already on a far-bigger spotlight moment this summer — Comic-Con International in San Diego.

“The worldwide premiere of  ‘Cowboys & Aliens’ will be at Comic-Con,” the director said of his hard-edged sci-fi western that stars Daniel Craig, Harrison Ford, Olivia Wilde and Sam Rockwell  “And not only are we going to premiere it there, we’re going to find a way to include as many of the fans as possible. I feel like they’ve come out for me, they’ve supported me.”

The movie goes into wide release on July 29 with its tale of an alien invasion in six-shooter days of 1873 Arizona. To some ears, the title might suggest a bit of camp, but the absolute opposite is the case — the nine minutes of footage that Favreau brought as a surprise to the Sunday night festival audience showed intense Old West action and men with gun-metal eyes making hard choices in an unforgiving terrain. The audience gave a robust ovation for the footage, suggesting that Favreau might be poised to deliver his third big hit following the “Iron Man” films in 2008 and 2010 that combined for a billion-dollar success. This new film puts him at the point-position of a behind-the-camera team that includes producers Ron Howard, Brian Grazer, Damon Lindelof, Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci and executive producer Steven Spielberg

Favreau said details are being put in place for the premiere, and that he would have more to say very soon. San Diego has been especially kind to the filmmaker, and he had shown a flair for showmanship and fan connection that (along with his acting career) has earned him  more than a million followers on Twitter. There will be serious logistical challenges ahead — it won’t be easy to carve out a spot for a world premiere amid the madness and din of Comic-Con week — but Favreau knows the San Diego rodeo better than anyone in Hollywood.

“That’s where it all started, and I want to give back,” he said. “They should have the opportunity to see it first.”

Katy Perry “Last Friday Night” Vid: Darren Criss, Kevin McHale

Katy Perry is going geek -- at least in her new video for “Last Friday Night.” Dressed up in glasses, headgear and unfortunate ’80s clothing, Katy stars as “Kathy,” a 13 year-old geek who wakes up after a big party and tries to remember what happens.

The video is a crazy cameo-fest: Glee stars Darren Criss (swoon) and Kevin McHale appear in the video along with “Friday” singer Rebecca Black, who plays Kathy’s best friend. Does Rebecca come out of the woodwork any time someone mentions the word “Friday”?

Even Hanson is involved, playing in the backyard at the party. Corey Feldman and Debbie Gibson star as Kathy’s parents.

Take a look at the video…you’ll be chanting “TGIF!”
