Man Says He Was Shot While Driving On I-65

INDIANAPOLIS -- A man said he was shot while driving on Interstate 65 just north of downtown Indianapolis early Sunday morning.
Indiana State Police said they were called to the southbound lanes of I-65 at mile marker 115, near the 21st Street exit, at about 1:40 a.m.
A witness told police that he heard gunshots before a driver lost control and hit a barrier wall.

Police were called to the BBQ Heaven Restaurant, at 2515 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. St., a short time later, finding Christopher Summers, 29, suffering from a gunshot wound to the hip.
Summers was taken to Wishard Memorial Hospital, where he was treated and released.
"Summers told investigating officers that … a black (Chevrolet) Monte Carlo with dark tinted windows pulled beside his car, and shots were fired from the opened passenger window," ISP Sgt. Rich Myers said in a news release. "Summers stated when he was struck … he lost control of his vehicle and crashed into the barrier wall."
Police asked anyone with information about the shooting to call them at 317-899-8577.
